PIPEDA-friendly analytics for WordPress

Privacy-protective defaults for Canadian websites: cookieless tracking, data on your own server and settings you control.

  • Cookieless by default
  • Data stays on your server
  • IP anonymisation
  • Global Privacy Control

In brief

What PIPEDA means for your analytics

PIPEDA (the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) is Canada’s federal privacy law for businesses, overseen by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia have their own private-sector laws.

It’s built on fair information principles, including meaningful consent and limiting what you collect and how long you keep it. Quebec’s Law 25 also expects privacy-protective settings by default.

Built in

Privacy settings you control

Every privacy setting is included in every plan. Turn on what fits your site.

Privacy-protective defaults

Cookieless out of the box. Cookie mode is optional and waits for your visitor’s consent.

IP anonymisation

Keep full IP addresses or anonymised ones. You choose.

Automatic data deletion

Choose how long data is kept and older data is deleted for you. We recommend 90 days.

Your data stays on your server

Every visit is stored in your own WordPress database. Visitor data never reaches us or anyone else.

Country lookup on your server

Location is worked out on your own server. Visitors’ IP addresses are never sent to an outside service.

Delete on request

When a visitor asks for their data to be deleted, you can delete their analytics data.

How it works

Where your data goes

Analytics data makes one short trip: from your visitor’s browser to your own WordPress site.

  1. Step 1Visitor’s browserA tracker of 5 KB or less loads in the background. No cookies by default.
  2. Step 2Your WordPress siteRecords the visit. Country lookup and IP anonymisation happen here, on your server.
  3. Step 3Your databaseStored in Analyzine’s own tables and deleted automatically after the period you set.

What reaches Solvix Studio: only your license key and a signature to verify it. Never your visitors’ data.

Questions

Does PIPEDA require consent for website analytics?

PIPEDA requires meaningful consent, and the form it takes depends on how sensitive the information is and what people would reasonably expect. The Privacy Commissioner’s guidance, or your legal advisor, can tell you what applies.

What about Quebec’s Law 25?

Law 25 expects privacy-protective settings by default. Analyzine’s defaults (cookieless tracking, with cookie mode only after consent) are a good starting point.

Can Solvix Studio see my visitors’ data?

No. Your analytics data stays in your WordPress database. We never receive it.
